Finance Manager

For an automotive organization in Amsterdam-Zuidoost we are looking for a Finance Manager.

Job description

As Finance Manager, you report to the Chief Financial Officer of the company. You work closely with the Head of Accounting, other members of the Finance department and with all operational departments of the organization; you secure that financial data is available for key business players. You act as liaison with the Group Country Controllers and relevant Group Staff departments (Marketing department, ALM department, Risk Management department) regarding group business requirement and support financial communication with external auditors, tax consultants and regulators. In your function, you are in charge of 2 Assistant Controllers.
 
The Finance & Controlling department focus on the execution of the group & entity strategy (based on objectives defined by the Group headquarters). You offer value by playing a key role in (strategic) business decisions & controlling business processes.
The department contributes actively to the completion of the Financial Reports to the Management Board, Shareholders (Headquarters) & Supervisors (consolidation accounts, statutory accounts, Capital & Financial Reports based on Local & Group Regulatory requirements, Mid Term Plan, yearly budget, quarterly actual/forecast, Rolling Forecast, Analytical Accounting).

Function’s objectives:

You are co-responsible for the implementation of the department objectives, which means that you supervise the team and give instruction to assure a correct and timely reporting cycle. You assure the continuity and quality of all activities within the department (coordinate actions of the team, build-up back-up culture, foster team spirit; create meritocracy where contributions by team members are valued and expected). 
You develop the operational efficiency of the department, in particular by sharing/implementing best practices identified and shared with the Central Controlling department at headquarters’ level and in other local financial entities of the group (when applicable).
You take initiatives, take the lead in interpretation of data’s, market trends and business information and translate concrete business opportunities that make a difference.

Main Responsibilities:

You are responsible for the tasks listed below:
1. Planning, organizing, coordinating and executing the financial planning and control cycle and link with strategic planning process together with the coordination of commercial part of the yearly Budget and Forecasting cycle .
2. Participation in Marketing & Commercial Committees for report and advice on commercial and financial developments , ensuring that the pricing actions allow the achievement of the commercial and financial targets.
3. Prepare long term projections on growth possibilities and return expectations .
4. Monitor the operating expenses and make suggestions to reinforce the cost-efficiency of the company.
5. Monthly production of consolidation package under IFRS Gaap for the group accounting department and of Capital & Financial Reports based on Local & Group Regulatory requirements as required.
6. Yearly production of statutory accounts under Local Gaap as respectively required for the different financial entities.
7. Deliver all tax information required for the monthly calculation of Corporate Income Tax and the annual CIT declaration.
8. Monthly analysis of pipeline, new business volume, projected & achieved margins and monitor or advice  for improvement.
9. Involvement in New Business Development and projects from a financial perspective, including necessary analysis, preparation of business cases and valuations .
10. Collaborating with the Marketing department in maintaining the Pricing policy and Pricing framework including a periodic review by comparing the pricing framework with external benchmark data and/or competitors pricing.
11. Setting up and maintaining a set of meaningful KPI’s on business performance to steer and monitor the results of the financial department.
12. Supporting the Chief Financial Officer of the company, in financial management and business controls related areas and be part of Finance Management Team.
13. Ensure internal control procedures (1st level control) are adhered to and report any variations to these procedures to Senior Management. Establish and perform in particular controls to ensure the integrity and quality of the submitted Management information.
14. Being involved in special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting requirements where financial expertise is required .
15. Attend the Controlling & Accounting Committee (Secretary).
16. Frequent contact with Headquarters in Paris and Madrid, external Auditors, Tax & Legal consultants in Netherlands. Relation with Administrations and Regulators as required.

Required qualifications and experience

• Master degree in Business Economics. Specific proficiency in controlling standards and skills.
• Certificate on Consumer Credit is compulsory
• Min. 5/6 years’ experience in finance & control area.
• Relevant Experience in Consumer Credit or Financial Services preferably automotive related / Dutch tax & legal environment.
• Understanding of capital markets and financial instruments
• Good analytical skills and judgment formation.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Advanced language skills in Dutch and English
• A strong business acumen that is able to advise stakeholders on all levels of the organization.
• An analytical person being able to connect data with business impact and vice versa.
• A strong personality with excellent communication skills that is able to translate wishes and requirements into business requirements.
• Able to act with a good balance between strength and sensitivity at different organizational levels.
• Taking initiative and finding challenging the implementation of new ways of working.

The employer offers

• Salary range €4500 - 5800 gross per month.
• Expense allowance of € 90 per month.
• Participation in group bonus scheme. Up to a maximum of 115% of the monthly salary.
• Year-end bonus depending on the profitability of the organization. Usually about a monthly salary.
